Intermediate Interior Designer

In this intermediate-level role located at Earls Head Office, you will assist in the execution of the design vision and the creation of design concepts to increase market dominance and the delivery of best-in-class expansion. You take direction well, and love working in a collaborative environment. You are detail oriented, self motivated and have strong communication skills.


Earls Kitchen + Bar is a family-run business, launched by father and son, Leroy Earl “Bus” Fuller and Stanley Earl Fuller in the early ‘80s and is also one of North America’s most successful independent restaurant groups. There are about 7,000 employees at 68 locations from Vancouver to Miami. Earls started with a simple idea: a laid-back burger and beer joint. Earls' early success was based on innovation, the best ingredients and great service.


  • Assist in execution of site-specific design vision that will allow every new store design and renovation to effectively express the brand and provide functional excellence.
  • Execute the delivery of floor plans and conceptual designs for multiple projects.
  • Develop 3D models of conceptual designs for effective execution of working drawings (construction document packages.)
  • Deliver unified and stunning articulations of the brand by executing furniture, fixtures, and equipment package and producing purchase orders for custom items.
  • Engage and develop junior designers.
  • Pursue the best interest of the company through a direct responsibility for financial performance and risk management.
  • Manage project schedules of assigned new builds and renovation projects.
  • Liaise with consultants and architects on assigned projects.


  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Interior Design
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years experience as a Junior Interior Designer
  • Technical: AutoCad, Sketchup, Microsoft Office software
  • Execution of designs, floor plans and conceptual designs at a project level
  • Ability to execute multiple designs under tight deadlines
  • Sourcing and planning of Furniture, fixtures and equipment
  • Millwork detailing
  • Current knowledge of industry trends in retail store and restaurant design
  • Current working knowledge of building and compliance issues


  • Experience working in a restaurant/knowledge of the hospitality industry and operations
  • A great sense of humour
  • A serious passion for food - we like to eat around here (sometimes wine is involved)
  • Open to personal development and growth
  • Big team player – able to be both a leader and also support those around them
  • Willing to travel
