Intermediate Accountant

Earls Kitchen + Bar is seeking an Intermediate Accountant for our Finance Team. In this role, you will be a part of a dynamic group working together to provide the restaurants with the most up to date and concise financial reports while supporting any other requests that may be needed.

  • Prepare accurate financial statements and related reports by deadlines which provide Operations with timely information to aid in decision making
  • Monitor cash control through bank reconciliations to safeguard assets
  • Meet reporting deadlines for taxes to ensure compliance, avoid penalties and interest and minimize any impact of government audits
  • Complete inter-company reconciliations for head office transactions and gather supporting documentation
  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Accounting preferred
  • Currently enrolled in CPA program PEP level
  • 2+ years experience in a full cycle accounting role
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Navision preferred
  • Organized and able to allocate time effectively, manage multiple demands and competing priorities and willingness to adapt to new ideas and changes
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Experience working in a restaurant/knowledge of the hospitality industry and operations
  • A great sense of humour
  • A serious passion for food - we like to eat around here (sometimes beer is involved)
  • Open to personal development and growth
