POS Specialist


Do you thrive on details and get all warm and fuzzy inside when systems are running smoothly and efficiently? Earls Kitchen + Bar is hiring a POS Specialist on our People Systems and Technology team.

The person best suited for this role has a keen eye for detail and technical experience – supporting menu rollouts, POS configuration, and restaurant systems for 65+ stores requires a high level of multi-tasking and efficiency. This is a crucial role, as you will be responsible for a large part of our guest experience.

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of all restaurant POS, KDS and payment system software and hardware including software and hardware upgrades and integrations
  • Implement and ensure flawless execution of POS system changes - price updates, menu item roll outs, touchscreen and functionality adjustments
  • Provide friendly online portal and telephone support to POS users, resulting in timely resolution of issues
  • Maintain and configure the customer facing website, ensuring online menus are up to date and accurate
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a previous technical role
  • Must be located in Vancouver, Canada - as much as we are a flexible work environment, this job will require a presence in our Vancouver office.
  • Work well in a team environment and also alone with minimal supervision
  • A strong understanding of and experience with Windows OS and hardware, Microsoft Office
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with hard deadlines
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Some early morning, evening, and weekend hours will be required
  • On call rotation once every four to five weeks
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to adapt to ever-changing and growing business needs - flexibility is a must
  • Customer service oriented
  • Previous database administration, SQL, and/or Crystal Reports experience an asset
  • A serious passion for food – we like to eat around here (sometimes wine is involved)
  • A positive attitude and a great sense of humour
  • Open to personal development and growth
  • Big team player – able to be both a leader and also support those around them
  • Previous experience in the restaurant or food and beverage industry
  • Knowledge of MICROS, QSR, and OpenTable a HUGE plus!
  • Google Suite experience a plus
  • Willing to travel on occasion
